Simon Cowell has sensationally claimed that he was taken into police custody, aged 12, for brandishing a fake gun on a bus.
The 58-year-old media mogul made the bizarre confession to Alison Hammond in an interview with This Morning on Friday when she asked put some 'true or false' questions to him.
'It's true!' he said, unable to contain his giggles, as he revealed it was supposed to be a joke. ?

Blushing, Simon confessed: 'It was a joke. I thought, I put a gun to… I shouldn't even be saying this… it was a pretend gun and we said to the bus driver, 'Take us to Watford' and he literally did not stop. I was in Watford the other day with Rak-Su and I told them this story, the last time I went to bloody Watford I was actually thrown in jail.'
Simon did not specify how long he was in prison for, but it is assumed it was a fleeting stay. MailOnline has contacted his representative for comment.?
In the candid interview, the media mogul also admitted that he 'thought he was dead' when he first woke up following THAT fall.
Speaking of his recent fall at home, which saw him slip down the stairs at night as he went to fetch some milk, the X Factor boss admitted he 'thought he was dead' when he awoke.?
'It's kind of embarrassing. I went down to get some milk, which isn't very rock and roll, because I was feeling a little bit lightheaded. I fell down the staircase, woke up, I thought I was dead first of all. I swear to god.'?

Simon, who later discovered he had been suffering from low blood pressure, continued:?'As I woke up one of the guys in the room with me, Ben, who's worked with me for years, was the first face I saw and I thought,?
'This wasn't my idea of heaven'. We both thought I'd broken my neck.'
And as Alison cheekily joked whether he needed to buy a stairlift, he laughed: 'The day I get to that… the day I get to that, honest to god, it's over. I'll take an elevator; I'm not having a stairlift. Anyway, I'm fine now, thank you.'

Discussing the final of the talent show, Simon discussed his hopes for the outcome.
'I hope so [it's going to be big]. We've got three people who could win, should win, it feels as exciting as we've done before. I genuinely don't know what's going to happen,' he revealed.
And the media mogul has already made the show a family show, with 3-year-old son Eric, who he shares with Lauren Silverman, making his debut on the show.??
Speaking about his son, named after his dad who he has branded 'the best mentor', he revealed the youngster is a big Rak-Su fan.?
'Rak-Su, I'm not just saying that,' he revealed of who Eric was supporting. ' I've got a video of him actually watching them on the show, standing doing this weird dance, I was like, 'Where did you get that from?' singing the song, he's doing this thing with his legs, laughing so much. He's a sweetheart.'?
And it looks as though the youngster is already taking on his father's talents, with Simon adding: 'I play something or we're watching something and I watch him, if he starts singing the words, if he starts dancing to it, or is watching it, I'd say 95% of the time he's always spot on. It's uncanny. Bloody right he is [following in my footsteps]. I'm training him up. Few more years to go, get him out of school, go and run the company.'

And on whether he was ever a Runner on the film The Shining, he explained it was a lie: 'I did actually try and be the Runner, and I was turned down by Stanley Kubrick. That's why I ended up in the music business, because I didn't get that job, then I got a job in the mailroom at EMI. Fate.'
Finally, on whether it's true he has black toilet paper in his bathrooms he said: 'I used to. I don't know who put it in, it was crazy. Not anymore.'
