'There's a shift in the culture': Heather Graham attends discussion about sexual abuse in the workplace... after accusing Weinstein of harassment
Heather Graham has found her voice and she isn't afraid to use it.?
The Californication star was a panelist at the Women in Film event titled Sexual and Gender Abuse in the Workplace on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.?
This comes on the heels of the 49-year-old's allegations against Harvey Weinstein where she alleged he implied sex would be required in order for her to get a role in one of his films.

Graham stepped out in a figure flattering red dress for the event that featured intricate embroidered flowers all over the bodice.?The cap sleeves and scalloped hem really made the ensemble stand-out.
She finished her look with a pair of black pumps that helped accentuate her long legs.
The Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders star was joined on the panel by Women in Film president Cathy Schulman who served as moderator and panelists Kathleen Tar, Rosette Laursen, Tracy Twinkie Byrd and Cindy Bamforth.

'When this thing broke out, I was so excited,' Graham said during the discussion according to Deadline. 'I felt people were finally speaking their truths.'
She added, 'I was really inspired by the other women speaking out. I think there's a shift in the culture.'?
So now instead of the victim feeling shamed for what happened to them, 'the shame is on the predator,' said Heather.
'I think speaking up is the best thing you can do. There are so many times I wish I would have.'

The panel discussion is important, especially in this post Harvey Weinstein world.
Since the New York Times exposed the powerful mogul in October for sexual harassment and abuse of power, many victims of powerful Hollywood executives have helped to expose others.
Heather is at the center of this movement, thanks to her adding her voice speaking out against Weinstein.?
In a guest post she shared via Variety, she opened up about the time he implied she could work in any film of his if she had sex with him.?

'In the early 2000s, Harvey called me into his office,' Graham said in Variety. 'There was a pile of scripts sitting on his desk.
'"I want to put you in one of my movies," he said and offered to let me choose which one I liked best.?
'Later in the conversation, he mentioned that he had an agreement with his wife. He could sleep with whomever he wanted when he was out of town. I walked out of the meeting feeling uneasy. There was no explicit mention that to star in one of those films I had to sleep with him, but the subtext was there.'

'A few weeks later, I was asked to do a follow-up meeting at his hotel,' she continued. 'I called one of my actress friends to explain my discomfort with the situation, and she offered to come with me.?
En route, she called me to say she couldn’t make it. Not wanting to be at the hotel alone with him, I made up an excuse — I had an early morning and would have to postpone.?
Harvey told me that my actress friend was already at his hotel and that both of them would be very disappointed if I didn’t show. I knew he was lying, so I politely and apologetically reiterated that I could no longer come by.?That was the end of that encounter — I was never hired for one of his films, and I didn’t speak up about my experience.'

Graham's latest series Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders just ended its run on NBC. The series took another look the infamous Menendez Brothers, Lyle and Erik, who murdered their parents brutally in 1989.
The blonde-turned-brunette starred as Judalon Smyth, girlfriend of the Lyle and Erik's therapist Dr. Jerome Oziel (played by Josh Charles).
The series starred Edie Falco, Carlos Gomez, Myles Gaston Villanueva, Gus Halperin and Constance Marie.

During last night's chat, Heather said she included aspects of her personal experience with sexual harassment in Hollywood into the dialog of the film, according to Variety.
'I think you wonder: "What should I do about this? Is this a criminal act they could be punished for? I don’t want to be seen as an actor that’s a pain in the ass,"' she said.?
'My only recourse was writing and directing a movie about it because I thought it wouldn’t change, but now it is.'
