But in real life, Carrie Fisher's daughter is helping keeping her memory alive, according to Mark Hamill.

'That's why it's so great that Billie Lourd is in the movie because we have that sort of continuity there,' the actor, 66, told Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday night's show.

He added that the Scream Queens star, 25, is 'so similar to her mother.'

He admitted that when he originally read the script he thought he was the one to show up to save Finn after his ill-fated lightsaber battle with nephew Kylo Ren.

He did however take the positives from all the needless preparation.?
